Club career

Mechia is a graduate of the Deportes Kindio Club. In 2005, he made his debut for the team in the Mustang Cup . On April 26, 2008, in the match against Independente Medellin , Alexander scored his first goal for Kindio [1] . In 2011, Mejia on loan transferred to Onse Caldas . On February 6, in a duel against Boyaco Chico , he made his debut for a new team [2] .

In 2012, Alexander moved to Atletico Nacional . On February 11, in a meeting against Boyac Chico, he made his debut for a new team [3] . In his first season, he helped the club win the Colombia Cup . In 2013, Mejia became the champion of Aperture and Clausura.

In early 2015, Alexander moved to the Mexican Monterrey . On January 12, in his match against Leones Negros , he made his debut in the Mexican Example [4] . In the summer of that year, Mejia returned to Atletico Nacional on a loan. In 2016, he won the Libertadores Cup as part of the Atletico Nacional. In the summer of that year, Mejia moved to Leon . On August 7, in his match against his former Monterrey club, he made his debut for the Lions [5] . On September 29, in the Mexican Cup match against Toluca , Alexander scored his first goal for Leon. International Career

On April 4, 2012, in the qualifying match of the 2014 World Cup against the national teams of Peru, Mejya made his debut for the Colombian national team [7] .
