Biography

Born on November 24, 1933 , in the city of Tbilisi, Georgian SSR , in the family of a military man. Ethnicity - Armenian. He graduated from the Kharkov Higher Aviation Engineering Military School, by education - radio engineer.

From 1951 to 1956 - cadet of the Kharkov Higher Aviation Engineering Military School.

Since 1956 he worked as a military engineer of the military unit 40433 of the city of Uzin, Kiev region. since 1961 - the head. department, head laboratory, teacher of the Kharkov Higher Command Aviation School.

1968 - dismissed from service for communication with dissidents and distribution of a letter from Academician A. D. Sakharov .

1968 - Senior Engineer of the Kharkov section of the commissioning department "Orgenergoavtomatika".

1969 - Member of the Initiative Group for the Protection of Human Rights in the USSR . Convicted under Art. 187 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR for a period of 3 years, Nizhny Ingash, Krasnoyarsk Territory of the RSFSR.

1972 - locksmith of the Kharkov enterprise " Kinotehprom ".

1981 - convicted under Art. 62 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 7 years of camps and 5 years of exile in the Perm region, Chistopol, smt. Barashevo of the RSFSR. He served 6 years and 2 months, of which 3 years - in prison, metro Chistopol, Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the rest - in camps for especially dangerous state criminals, Perm Region. and the Mordovian ASSR.

In 1987 he was pardoned (although he never pleaded guilty and did not file a request for pardon).

1987 - locksmith of the Kharkov enterprise "Kinotehprom".

1990, both sentences were abolished for lack of corpus delicti.

1990 Chairman of the Kharkov city committee of national control.

1994 - Executive Director of the Association of Commercial Banks “Kharkov. Banking Congress. "

Member of the NRU, member of the Central Wire, chairman of the regional organization; deputy of the city council.

Nominated as a candidate for People’s Deputies by voters of the 522nd microdistrict of Kharkov and the Ukrainian Language Society T. G. Shevchenko.

03/18/1990 elected People's Deputy of Ukraine, 2nd round 46.06% of the vote, 4 applicants. He was a member of the People’s Council. non-partisan factions.

Member of the Commissions of the Verkhovna Rada for Veterans, Pensioners, Disabled, Repressed, Poor and Internationalist Warriors and the Commission on Defense and State Security.

Candidate for People’s Deputies of Ukraine of the Supreme Council of the XIII convocation, nominated by voters, 1st round - 3.36% 5th place out of 16 candidates. He was awarded five medals.

In mid-May 2005, Altunyan was hospitalized in a Kharkov clinic at the Institute of General and Emergency Surgery, then was taken to Israel for rehabilitation. He died in the afternoon of June 30, 2005 in an Israeli clinic as a result of sepsis [1] . He was buried in Kharkov [2] .
