Career
At his first Olympics in 1956, he won a bronze medal as part of the USSR national team . At the tournament, he spent all 7 matches and scored 2 goals. At the next Games, the USSR won silver, and Kurennoy again played all 7 matches and scored 3 goals in each of the first three games [1] .
In 1954, he won the bronze medal in the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay at the European Championships .
Winner of the 1956 Spartakiad in the Moscow team.
He was buried at the Preobrazhensky cemetery [2] .
