Biography
Born in Krasnoyarsk in the family of a military engineer Sokolov, Nikolai Semenovich (1903-1964). Mother - Sokolova, Antonina Yakovlevna (1904-1980).
Marina Sokolova is the sister of the Russian Soviet poet Vladimir Sokolov , the niece of satirist Mikhail Kozyrev .
She spent her childhood years in Likhoslavl and Kalinin (she studied at secondary school No. 16). She graduated from the courses of hydrogeological technicians at the Hydroproject Institute (1956), worked on expeditions, took part in the survey work on the construction of the Cheboksary Hydroelectric Station ( 1957 ), graduated from the Literary Institute ( 1963 ), the seminar of the writer Lev Kassil , and higher script courses at the Institute of Cinematography (1971).
Lives in Likhoslavl, Tver Oblast .
