Career
At the Olympics in Helsinki, he performed in saber competitions - in the individual and team championships. At the next Games, he won two bronze medals in the same disciplines [1] .
Three times silver and twice bronze medalist of the world championships in a team saber. Winner of the 1959 Spartakiad .
After completing a career in 1963, he switched to coaching. He headed the saber team at five Olympics: in 1964 , 1968 , 1972 , 1980 and 1988 .
