Heinz Kagan, Heinrich Adolfovich

Heinrich Adolfovich Heinz-Kagan (real surname Kagan , German: Heinz Kahan , Roman. Heinz Cahan [1] ; May 6, 1895 , Iasi , Romania - September 26, 1937 , Moscow ) - Soviet philologist , editor-in-chief , publicist .

He was a member of the Communist Workers Party of Germany ; arrested by the Cheka during an illegal visit to the USSR in 1922 . Participated in a meeting of German proletarian writers in Moscow. After moving from Germany to the USSR in 1929, he worked as a teacher at the Military Academy of the Red Army named after M.V. Frunze . [2] [3]

The author of textbooks and a dictionary of the Romanian language . In 1932 he was sent to the Moldavian ASSR to work on the translation of the Moldavian language from Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet; appointed editor-in-chief of the State Publishing House of the Moldavian ASSR (State Publishing House of Moldova). [4] [5] [6] He published literary and critical articles on modern Romanian literature in Soviet periodicals. [7]

Arrested on May 19, 1937 on charges of participation in a counter-revolutionary espionage and terrorist organization; convicted and executed on September 26 of the same year.
