In the World Cup, Maksimochkin made his debut on November 24, 2013 , in January 2014, for the only time in his career, he was among the top ten in personal competitions at the World Cup stage. In total, at the moment he has 3 hits in the top ten at the stages of the World Cup, 2 of them in team competitions and 1 in personal ones.
At the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, he took the 30th place in the competition on the normal springboard, becoming the best of the Russians, two days after that fell during a training jump, receiving bruises to his chest and abdomen, and therefore could not take part in other disciplines of the jumping tournament at the Olympics.
During his career, he did not take part in the world championships , at the junior world championships in personal disciplines did not rise above the 28th place.
