Washington County ( eng. Washington County ) is located in the US state of Ohio . As of 2010 , the population was 61,778 people. It got its name from the name of the first US President George Washington .

According to the US Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 1,658 km², of which 1,637 km² is land and 21 km², or 1.25% is water.

According to the 2000 census [1] , 63,251 inhabitants live in the district as a part of 25,137 households and 17,671 families . The population density is 38 people per km ². On the territory of the district there are 27,760 residential buildings, with a building density of 17 buildings per km ². The racial composition of the population: white - 97.33%, African Americans - 0.92%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.24%, Asians - 0.43%, Hawaiians - 0.05%, representatives of other races - 0.13 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.89%. Hispanic was 0.51% of the population, regardless of race .
In the composition of 30.90% of the total number of households live children under the age of 18 years, 57.90% of households are married couples living together, 9.10% of households are single women without a spouse, 29.70% of households households are not related to families , 25.40% of households consist of one person, 11.20% of households consist of elderly (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.45 people, and the average family size is 2.93 people.
