Biography
She was born on February 29, 1968 in the city of Kanev, Cherkasy region [1] (according to other sources - in Lviv).
Engaged in rowing, International Master of Sports ( 1988 ). Trained on the basis of the sports society Dynamo in Kiev with Alexander Gorovoy . [1] In 1992 she graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Physical Culture (now the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine .
After the end of her sports career, she lived in Moscow. She married Vasily Tikhonov . Their twin daughters Anastasia and Elizabeth are Russian rowers. [2]
Achievements
She won the silver medal at the Seoul Olympics in the doubles four (Irina Kalimbet, Svetlana Maziy , Inna Frolova , Antonina Dumcheva ).
Also in the doubles four she won medals at the 1987 World Championships ( Denmark , Bronze ) and 1989 ( Slovenia , Silver ).
Being a junior, she won the bronze medal in the four doubles ( Brandenburg , Germany , 1985) and the silver medal alone ( Rechitsa , Czech Republic , 1986) at the world junior championships.
She was awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction" (1988).
