Taukent ( Kaz. Taukent ) - a village in the Suzak district of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Taukent settlement administration. It is located 40 km west of the district center, the village of Sholakkorgan . Shymkent is 230 km away.

Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 3575 people (1721 men and 1854 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 6551 people lived in the village (3194 men and 3357 women) [2] .
History
The village arose at the Kanzhugan uranium deposit.
Production
Within the village is a mining and chemical enterprise. Its raw material is uranium, mined at the South Moinkum and Kanzhugan deposits located in the Chu-Sarysu province. In addition to the city-forming enterprise in the village there are several small firms specializing in the provision of services in various fields, including transport, construction, repair.
