History
The village grew up on the site of the cordon, founded in 1774, after the Itkul Bashkirs attacked the Ufalean plants. Residents of the cordon had to monitor the surrounding Bashkir population, in case of its activation - light a bonfire on a nearby mountain. At the beginning of the 19th century near Selkov, the owners of the Kaslinsky plant Rastorguevs began the development of the Olkhovsky mine (on the facade of one of the houses - the former mine office - there is a sign of the insurance company with the date "1828"). Peasants from the Kaslinsky and Nyazepetrovsky factories were brought for work. In 1917 the mine was nationalized in 1933. closed due to unprofitability. In 1934 in Selki there was a chemical forest farm, in which dispossessed residents of nearby villages worked. Since 1950 in the village there was a section of timber industry for timber harvesting; there was a school and a free dining room. Since the early 1950s the geological party began operations, which conducted exploration at the Chernoooozersky mine and Sinarsky site; with its closure, the population began to decline.
