History
The ancestor and leader of the group was multi-instrumentalist Keith Karloff [1] ( Keith Karloff ). Moving from New York to San Francisco, Keith invited Los Angeles bassist Rudy D. Maynard to collaborate with whom they recorded a minion called Five Piece Screwdriver Set , released under the Blue / Black Records label. Later they were joined by Charlie Hunter and Mark Burdon. In this composition, the team performed in various clubs in San Francisco under the name Keith Gale's Parallel Universe.
In 1989, Hunter and Burdon left the band, and new members took over - guitarist Judd Austin and drummer Trey Sabatelli, and the band was renamed The Gone Jackals. In 1990, the band released their first album - Out and About with the Gone Jackals , whose main hits were the songs “I'm Workin 'On You” and “Legacy”. The musical style of the group was based on hard rock and blues rock .
In 1995, the band released its second album - Bone to Pick , made in the style of heavy metal . In collaboration with Peter McConnell from LucasArts, the musicians reworked some of the tracks from this album for use in the Full Throttle adventure computer game , which subsequently led to a significant increase in album sales.
In the late work of the group there are experiments with psychedelic rock . The last major work of the team was the album Blue Pyramid (1998). In 1999, the band signed with Raspberry Records, an international record company, and released the single Faith Healer . In the same 1999, the group broke up.
