In accordance with the Concept of reforming the repair complex of the track facilities of Russian Railways OJSC, on April 23, 2008 BET OJSC was registered, combining 9 plants for the production of reinforced concrete sleepers. All nine plants of BET OJSC produce reinforced concrete sleepers, and six factories have set up the production of railroad switches. The main activities of BET OJSC are the production and sale of reinforced concrete sleepers, sets of reinforced concrete beams of turnouts, bridge ballastless slabs, general construction reinforced concrete products and ready-mixed concrete, rail fasteners. The headquarters of the company is located in Moscow.

History

  • The first plant for the production of sleepers, which became part of BET OJSC, was the Kalikinsky sleeper impregnation plant built in 1937. In the 90s, the plant was modernized and the company began to produce reinforced concrete sleepers. Kalikinsky Shipyard is the main place of work for residents of the village of Shpalozavod, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
  • In 1959, the Khabarovsk reinforced concrete sleepers plant was built to meet the needs of Western Siberia and the Far East for sleepers and other materials of the track’s upper structure. The company produces not only reinforced concrete sleepers ShZ-D-500, Sh-1-250, but also other products from reinforced concrete.
  • In the same year, to meet the ever-growing needs of the railways of the Urals and Eastern Siberia, the Chelyabinsk plant of reinforced concrete sleepers was built. This plant became the first specialized enterprise - only reinforced concrete sleepers are produced here. During the work, the enterprise underwent four modernization, increased production capacity. This allowed an increase in almost widowed production.
  • In 1965, the construction of the Chudovsky factory of reinforced concrete sleepers in the Novgorod region was completed. In 1990, the enterprise was modernized and the production of reinforced concrete beams for turnouts began. A decade later, the technical re-equipment of the plant allowed to increase the volume of production and begin production of a new type of reinforced concrete sleepers for bonding like ARS.
  • In 1967, the construction of the Caucasian factory of reinforced concrete sleepers was completed. The company's products are supplied to all regions of Russia. Over the years, the company has produced more than 40 million sleepers, with the help of which more than 22 thousand km of track have been laid - half the equator.
  • In 1968, the construction of the Vyazemsky factory of reinforced concrete sleepers was completed. Nine years later, after the commissioning of the second workshop, the company doubled its production. Currently, the company produces more than 1 million 700 thousand sleepers a year, increasing production by almost eight times, compared with 1976. The main products are modern types of sleepers for fasteners such as ARS, reinforced concrete, and others.
  • Engels Reinforced Concrete Products Plant No. 6 was built in 1970. But only in 1995, the enterprise began production of reinforced concrete sleepers and other products for the railway. Three years later, the production of reinforced concrete switchboards began. In 2000, the third line for the production of sleepers was built and today the production capacity of the enterprise is 1 million 250 thousand sleepers per year.
  • To ensure the construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway with the required number of sleepers, the Gornovsky Special Reinforced Concrete Plant was built in 1974. The main products of the plant are sleepers, slabs and other types of reinforced concrete products.
  • In 1980, the production of reinforced concrete sleepers was launched in Liski. In the 90s, the workshop was expanded and received the name Liskinsky Plant of Special Concrete. After reconstruction and modernization, the plant was the first in the country to begin production of reinforced concrete sleepers with ARS fastening.
