Biography

Representative of the noble family of the Pushkins . The third son of the voivode Mikhail Fedorovich Pushkin (? - 1607 ). The brothers are Eustathius (d. 1603 ), Ivan the Great (d. 1612 ), Leontius (d. 1605 ) and Ivan Menshoy (d. After 1619 ).

Nikita Pushkin began his service in the reign of Tsar Ivan the Terrible . In 1570 - 1572 years - " tug " in the campaign against Novgorod .

In 1577 - a Moscow nobleman , his local salary in Vyazma - 500 families.

In 1598, N. M. Pushkin signed a council resolution on the election of Boris Fedorovich Godunov to the royal throne. In 1603 - 1605 he was in the province of Tobolsk .

During the Time of Troubles, Nikita Mikhailovich Pushkin in 1608-1609 served as governor in Vologda , playing a double game. The legitimate king Vasily Shuisky , who was in Moscow, and the impostor False Dmitry II , who had been fortified in Tushino , considered him his man.

Having received from the governor of Yaroslavl, Prince F.P. Boryatinsky , the order and a kiss on the oath of False Dmitry II , the Vologda governor Nikita Pushkin took the oath of allegiance to the Tushino thief and forced the inhabitants of Vologda to kiss the cross on allegiance to the impostor. At the request of N. M. Pushkin, the inhabitants of Totma also took the oath of allegiance to the Tushino thief. At first, False Dmitry II sent letters to the cities he submitted to, in which he promised servicemen salaries and gifts, and to merchants and townspeople - letters of exemption from all royal taxes. However, the Polish lords, who were in the Tushino camp and who fought on behalf of the impostor, began to demand a large indemnity from the subjugated cities.

In January 1609, letters from Totma and Vologda were received in Ustyug , representing the Vologda governor Nikita Pushkin from completely different angles. Totmichi wrote: " From Vologda, Mikita Pushkin writes to the shelves of a thief, and I will give Vologda to you, a third de and it’s worth, and two lots are dealt, and when you come, we will hand over to Vologda; and he goes to Vologda to Mikita Pushkin , scout, they call Trenia, Krylov from Zhilin, lives behind Sol Galetskoy . " Vologda residents wrote to Ustyuzhans about the campaign of Lithuanian people with Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Romanov and Poshekhonsky rebels to Vologda and asked to send military people and Siberian Cossacks to help. At the same time, the Vologda residents expressed surprise and resentment that the Ustyuzhans wrote directly to them, in addition to their governors Pushkin: " and governor Mikita Mikhailovich - the letter ended - but clerk Rakhmanin Voronov in Vologda and sovereign affairs still live about all the sovereigns and "We are glad about everything about the Zemstvo affairs and about military affairs with us, like-mindedly: and to us, sir, the summation is that you are not writing to them about advice ." The Vologda citizens refused the oath to the impostor and began to serve “faithfully” to Moscow Tsar Vasily Shuisky. Vasily Shuisky himself considered Nikita Pushkin to be his reliable supporter, because in February 1609 he wrote a letter to Perm about the collection of military people and their sending to Vologda , and the governor N.M. Pushkin wrote on February 28 about the appointment of heads to the Vologda military people, about sending them against the rebels, about the strengthening of Vologda in the event of a siege, etc.

In the middle of March 1610, Prince Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky wrote to Vologda about the arrival of the Swedish auxiliary detachment in Moscow, and at the end of March Nikita Pushkin informed Perm and Solikamsk that their military men and Vologda residents had been sent to Tsarist service near Kostroma . In late April or early May 1610, N. M. Pushkin informed the Ustyuzhans that the order and potion sent to him in Yaroslavl had been delivered there safely, and that Yaroslavl was asked to send military men and potions from all cities.

On May 15, 1609, Tsar Vasily Shuisky sent a letter to Nikita Pushkin to collect all ranks of people in Vologda and declare them royal forgiveness that they “unwittingly kissed the thieves’s cross”, and for their service - the promise of various benefits in taxes and duty-free trade rights. In August 1609, the healer Karpik was sent by the Verkhotursk voivode with sable treasury. He arrived in Vologda only on Monday at Holy Week of 1610 , and the governor Nikita Pushkin did not let him go to Novgorod , but first wrote to Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky to find out how to dispose of it. By order of Prince Mikhail Vasilievich Skopin , the sable treasury was left up to time in Vologda and left for storage in the Cathedral Church of Sofia the Wisdom of God.

In 1613, V. N. Pushkin signed a conciliar letter on the election of Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov to the royal throne. In the same year he served as governor in Kholmogory . In the years 1614 - 1616, Nikita Pushkin was in the Voivodship in Vladimir , had a local salary of 250 families.

In 1617, he served as governor in Arzamas . In 1619, V. N. Pushkin was granted a roundabout . In the same year, he accompanied Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich during his praying “trip” to the Makaryevo-Unzhensky monastery , and in 1621 - to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra .

In 1622, the okolnichnik Nikita Mikhailovich Pushkin died, leaving behind his four sons:

  • Mikhail Nikitich Pushkin
  • Ivan Nikitich Pushkin "Laiko" (d. 1652/1657 ), solicitor , nobleman of Moscow and governor
  • Daniil Nikitich Pushkin
  • Vasily Nikitich Pushkin (d. 1649 ), Moscow nobleman , stolnik and governor
