City Scandals
- In 2007, in the territory of the Bakery them. V.P. Zotov there was a fire, which led to a complete stop of production. Immediately after the fire, a project appeared to restore the industrial building, which is an architectural monument, as well as create a multifunctional administrative and business complex around it. The proposed project caused dissatisfaction from the city defenders, the implementation of the project was suspended. Since the end of 2013, work on the project has been resumed - a building permit has been obtained, approval has been made.
- In 2011 and 2012, there was a scandal against the demolition of a 19th-century apartment building in Bolshoi Kozikhinsky Lane , in which composer AE Varlamov lived in 1841. In July-August 2011, the demolition was accompanied by beatings of residents of houses number 23 and 27, as well as defenders of the architectural appearance of Moscow. In February 2012, among other city defenders, the People’s Artist of Russia Tatyana Dogileva suffered from police actions: on February 13 she was punched in the stomach, and the next day in the face [21] .
- In March 2013, the demolition of the mansion of the architect S.V. Sokolov in the Electric Lane began . The demolition was opposed by the Internet publication Fronde TV and the public coalition In Defense of Old Moscow. Activists blocked the passage of vehicles to the construction site and prevented the chippers from working. Demolition was suspended by the police [22] [23] . On March 15, 2013, city defenders turned to the prosecutor’s office [24] . In June 2014, an old mansion was demolished [25] .
