Martha Sleeper ( born Martha Sleeper , June 24, 1910 - March 25, 1983 ) is an American actress. Born in a small town in Illinois , she spent her childhood on a ranch in Wyoming . In her youth, Sleeper attended dance classes in New York . Her father was the leader of the musical theater troupe in New York, and in 1923, due to health reasons, was forced to move to Los Angeles , taking his family with him.

In 1924, Sleeper was admitted to the Hal Roach studios film studio, where her film debut took place in the same year. In 1927, the actress was on the WAMPAS Baby Stars list as one of the actress's budding and budding ones. In the subsequent years of her career, Slipper starred in six dozen films, including Prudence (1927), Midnight Mary (1933), Crawler (1935), Rhythm on the Steeps (1936) and The Bells of St. Mary (1945). In 1936, she returned with her husband Hardy Albright to New York, where until the late 1940s she played a lot on the theater stages of Broadway .
In 1949, while relaxing on the Virgin Islands with her second husband, the actress decided not to return to the mainland. She settled in San Juan , where a year later she opened a store selling women's clothing and jewelry of her own production. Her diverse brooches and necklaces were quite popular with movie stars of the time, such as Dolores del Rio and Fay Ray . In 1969, Sleeper returned to Southern California , where in March 1983 she died at the age of 72.
