Sciter

Sciter (formerly HTMLayout ) is an embedded browser engine developed by Terra Informatica. The main task of the engine is to build a web interface in desktop applications. It supports HTML , CSS , JavaScript -like TIScript and DOM with some additions that are not part of the W3C specification, but are useful for building a UI [1] .

The old version of the HTMLayout library worked only under Windows. Sciter is a cross-platform library available not only for Windows, but also for Linux and Mac OS X.

These products use TIScript as the JavaScript engine.

License

HTMLayout and Sciter are proprietary software products; source code is available upon purchase of the appropriate license. For Sciter, free and indie licenses require the presence of the notification program “this code contains Sciter engine” in the about window or a similar place.

History

The library was created by the founder and owner of Terra Informatica Software, Andrei Fedonyuk.
