Bosnian Vilayet ( tour: Bosna Vilayeti , Serbian. Bosansky Vilayet , Bosnian Vilajet Bosna ) is a vilayet of the Ottoman Empire , which included almost the entire territory of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina (at the end of the 19th century its area was approximately 46 thousand km²). It was formed in 1867 instead of the Bosnian eyalet . De facto existed only 11 years before the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Austro-Hungarian forces in 1878, it was actually abolished only in 1908.
