Prior to renaming in 1972, the village was called Kitay Gorod . [3]

Geography
The village of Mezhdurechye is located southeast of Dalnerechensk , in the valley of the Malinovka river, between two small rivers : on the right bank of the Lazarevka river and on the left bank of the Titovka river.
The village stands on the highway Dalnerechensk - Ariadnoe - Koksharovka ( Chuguevsky district of Primorsky Krai ) between the villages Novotroitskoye and Rakitnoye . To the east of Mezhdurechye (away from the highway) at a distance of about 2 km is the village of Udarnoe .
The distance from Mesopotamia to the regional center of Dalnerechensk is about 44 km.
