Ratings and opinions

From an interview with M. V. Kolomiyts [2] :

- But what about the thesis of Western historians - “filled up with corpses”? During the war years in the USSR more than one hundred thousand tanks were fired, in Germany - three times less.

- Not in three, but in two and a little - 102 thousand versus 45 thousand German. They did not cover them with corpses, but with iron. And rightly so. We have a lot of it. It is easier to make a new tank, more perfect than repairing a padded one. And the crews just tried to take care.

Ilya Smirnov about the book "Stalin's land battleships" (2009) [3] :

The research that Maxim Kolomiets undertook is devoted, it seems, to a narrow topic, and the author is not at all inclined to journalism. Strict manner. Technology, reports, no slogans, neither left nor right. But as a result, the reader gets a very convincing (precisely because of the strict manufacturability) answer to some "damn questions" of a general historical nature.
