History

In 1926, the Archeographic Commission of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, headed by M. S. Grushevsky , undertook the publication of the Ukrainian Archeographic Collection. Until 1930, only three volumes were published (the fourth volume was planned, but it was never published). The chief editor of all three volumes was M. S. Grushevsky. The main theme of these issues was the history of Ukraine from the 17th to the beginning of the 20th century . The articles examined and analyzed documents of that period, made reviews and descriptions of existing and newly found sources .

In 1992, the publication was resumed by the Archaeographic Commission and the Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies. M. Grushevsky Academy of Sciences of Ukraine . For a long time, the chief editor of this yearbook was P.S. Sokhan . The collection continues work on the study and systematization of documents and historical sources on the history of Ukraine of the 16th – 20th centuries.
