The Pribina Cross was established by Law No. 37/1994 of February 2, 1994 .
It bears the name of Pribina - the first known ruler on the lands of modern Slovakia, the prince of the Principality of Nitran ( 825 - 833 ), the prince of the Blatensky principality ( 840 - 860 ).
Awarding grounds
The Cross of Pribina is awarded to citizens of Slovakia for outstanding services and activities to develop the economic, social and cultural life of the Slovak Republic.
Each President of the Slovak Republic is a Knight of the Cross of the Pribina First Class.
The order has three classes. Higher - 1 class.
