“Palau Sant Jordi” ( Cat. Palau Sant Jordi ) is a multi-purpose indoor sports arena located in Barcelona , Catalonia , Spain . It was built in 1990 for the Summer Olympic Games (1992).

History
Designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki , the arena was opened on September 21, 1990, two years before the Olympic Games in Barcelona. She is a masterpiece of architecture and modern technology. Its structure and materials used give it great flexibility, which allows you to adapt the room for a variety of events.
Sporting events
The arena was the venue for the indoor Indoor Track and Field Championships (1995).
Also in the arena was the European Basketball Championship (1997). [one]
“Palau Sant Jordi” was the main venue for the World Aquatics Championship (2003). For this case, a temporary regulatory pool was installed. [10] After 10 years, Barcelona once again became the venue for the World Aquatics Championship (2013). [3]
In 2014, Palau Sant Jordi became one of the six arenas for the 2014 World Basketball Championships .
