Hans Wagner ( German: Hans Wagner ; October 6, 1949 , Neubeuern ) is a German bobsledder who accelerates and played for the German national team in the late 1970s. Member of the Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, world champion in the classification of four-seater crews, winner of many international tournaments and national championships.

Biography
Hans Wagner was born on October 6, 1949 in the municipality of Neubeuern , Rosenheim . From childhood he was fond of sports, was a member of the nearby sports club "Olsztadt", where he mastered the profession of bobsledding accelerating. Over time, he began to show good results and soon joined the team of pilot Stefan Geisraiter , who played in the main team of the national team. The first serious success in bobsleigh was achieved in 1979 when a four-seater crew with Geisreiter, which also included overclocking Dieter Gebard and Heinz Boucher , took first place at the home world championship in Königssee, ahead of the four most recognized favorite from the German Democratic Republic Mainhard Nemer .
Thanks to a series of successful performances in 1980, Wagner won the right to defend the country's honor at the Lake Placid Winter Olympics . He performed in the four-seater crew of the pilot Peter Hell, together with the accelerating Walter Barfus and Heinz Boucher - in the end, their team finished seventh. Shortly after these competitions, Hans Wagner decided to end his career as a professional athlete, losing his place in the national team to young German bobsledders.
