Abay ( kaz. Abay ) - a village in the Turkestan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan , the administrative center of the Keles district . It is also the administrative center and the only settlement of the Abay rural district. Located on the Keles River, about 23 km south-west of the district center, the city of Saryagash . Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 15454 people (7557 men and 7897 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 17,700 people lived in the village (8,608 men and 9092 women) [3] .
