Biography

Simon Frolovsky was born on February 2, 1906 in the village of Nazarievo (now the Sarajevo district of the Ryazan region ). After graduating from seven grades of the school, he worked in forestry. In 1928 - 1930 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Demobilized, he worked in civil aviation. In 1935, Frolovsky graduated from the Tambov school of pilots of the Civil Air Fleet. In June 1941, he was re-drafted into the army. Since July of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .

By June 1943, Senior Lieutenant Semyon Frolovsky commanded the Li-2 airship of the 1st Air Regiment of the 1st Air Transport Division of the Air Force Civil Code. By that time, he had made 500 sorties over the front line to deliver goods for partisans and reconnaissance groups, transported more than a thousand scouts and paratroopers, and evacuated more than three hundred wounded. As part of the group, he shot down 2 German aircraft [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 7, 1943, for “exemplary performance of the command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown”, Senior Lieutenant Semyon Frolovsky was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under number 1065 [1] .

In 1946, with the rank of captain, Frolovsky was sacked. He lived in Moscow , worked as a pilot on international flights. He died on April 16, 1998, was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and World War 1 degree, two orders of the Red Star , the Order of the Badge of Honor and a number of medals [1] .
