Chapliniana is a Soviet full - length color film-ballet to the music of Charles Chaplin . Choreography by Gali Abaidulov , script and direction by Alexander Belinsky , starring Gali Abaidulov and Ekaterina Maksimova . The film was commissioned by the USSR State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting at the Lenfilm film studio in 1987 .
