Creation
The 204th Mixed Aviation Division was formed on May 10, 1942 by the Order of the NPO of the USSR [1] on the basis of the 49th Army Air Force Directorate.
Rename
On May 24, 1942, the 204th Mixed Aviation Division was transformed into the 232nd Assault Aviation Division by order of the USSR NPO [2] .
