Trans-Volga region (Cheboksary)

The Volga region ( Chuvash. Yălăm ) is a territory subordinated to the city of Cheboksary ( Moscow region ), in Chuvashia . [1] It is part of the urban district of the city ​​of Cheboksary .

Big Swan Lake

Located 6 km west of the village of Sosnovka . By origin, the lake is inter-dune. Width - 600 m, volume - 86.0 thousand m³. In 1916, the area of ​​the lake was 50 ha, in 2000 - 23 ha. A long bay, rounded at the end, departed from the western side, now it has turned into a hummocky swamp with grassy vegetation, and the lake itself has acquired a complex configuration. The modern average depth of the lake is 1.3 m, the maximum is 1.8 m. The lake basin is flat, almost flat. The lake is at the stage of aging, siltation. Water is hydrocarbonate-sulfate-calcium. Mineralization 197.8 mg / L. The temperature of the surface layer of water is 23 ° C. Bottom sediments are represented by peaty, algal-clay sapropel . The lake is surrounded by rafts of up to 40-50 m wide. In the vegetation of the shores sedges, sphagnum prevail, of the trees - birch, aspen. Thickets of rdesta floating with a small admixture of white water lilies and yellow capsules adjoin the raft. Crucian carp is found in the lake [5] .
