Biography
Born in 1936 in Megara in Attica, Greece. He graduated from the Khalka Theological School [1] .
In 1964 he was ordained to the rank of deacon , and then to the presbyter by the metropolitan Grevensky Chrysostom (Papainitis) [1] .
In 1964-1978, he was a preacher in the border town of the Grevenskaya Metropolis.
In 1978-1997, he was a preacher in the Metropolis of Peristeria.
In 1997 he was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, for three years he was the administrator and patriarchal epitrop in Cairo , being the prior of the Constantine-Eleninsky church in Cairo.
On November 23, 1999, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Alexandrian Orthodox Church, he was elected Bishop of Mareotida with the appointment of a patriarchal epitropist in Alexandria [2] .
On December 12, 1999, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Peter VII, headed his episcopal consecration [1] .
From February 22, 2001 - Metropolitan of Khartoum [1] , the superior and the Exarch and of the whole Sudan .
On November 1, 2006, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was unanimously elected Metropolitan of Pilusius , and the superior and Exarch of the First Augustinian and Messemvria [3] .
On December 22 of the same year, his pledge was held, headed by Pope and Patriarch Theodore II [1] .
In October 2008, he was hospitalized in Antalya with symptoms of a heart attack. The next day was discharged [4] .
On October 9, 2009, by the decision of the Holy Synod, at the suggestion of Patriarch Theodore II, for his long service to the Church, he was granted the title of Elder-Metropolitan [3] .
He died on December 21, 2013 in the city of Port Said [3] . On January 24, in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Port Said, Metropolitan Gabriel of Leontop (Ravtopoulos) , locum tenens of the Pilusian metropolis, performed the funeral service of the deceased hierarch in co-operation of the clergy of the metropolis [5] .
