Geography
The village is located in the central part of the okrug, about 5.5 km south of the Shakhovskaya district center, at the head of the nameless stream of the Ruza river basin [7] , the height of the center above sea level is 259 m [8] . The nearest settlements are Obukhovo in the northwest, Khovan in the north and Dubrovino in the southeast. At the eastern outskirts of the village there passes the regional highway 46K-1123 Tver - Uvarovka [9] , along which there are many buses to Shakhovskaya [10] .
There are 3 streets in the village: Lugovaya, Novaya and Polevaya , attributed to the SNT β Cherry β [11] .
Historical Information
Previously, Cherry was a palace village [12] , in which until the Time of Troubles there was a church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, and later a chapel [13] .
In 1769, Cherry was a village of the Khovansky camp of Volokolamsk Uyezd in the Moscow province , the common possession of Major General Alexander Ivanovich Neplyuyev with his wife, foreman Fedor Ivanovich Dmitriev-Mamonov, sons of Prokofiy Sokovnin and widow, major of Natalya Prokofievna Shusharina. The property included 346 acres of 492 acres of arable land and 775 acres of 875 acres of forest. There are 44 souls in the village [14] .
In the middle of the XIX century, the village belonged to the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district and belonged to Princess Nastasya Fedorovna Vreda. In the village there were 20 households , peasants 75 male souls and 81 female souls [15] .
In the βList of Populated Placesβ of 1862, Cherry is the owner's village of the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province on the left side of the Moscow highway, going from the border of the Zubtsov district to the city of Volokolamsk , 25 versts from the county town, at a well, with 33 yards and 210 residents (109 men, 101 women) [3] .
According to the data for 1890, it was part of the Bukholovskaya volost of Volokolamsk district, the number of male souls was 97 people [16] .
In 1913 - 32 yards [17] .
According to the materials of the 1926 All-Union Census - the village of the Khovansky village council of Sudislovskaya volost , 213 people lived (79 men, 134 women), there were 42 households (41 peasant), there was a school [4] .
Since 1929 - a settlement as part of the Shakhovsky district of the Moscow region.
1994-1995 - the village of Cherlenkovsky rural district of the Shakhovsky district [18] .
1995-2006 - the village of Volochanovsky rural district of the Shakhovsky district [19] .
