Palmer Archipelago is a group of islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula , separated from it by the Gerlach Strait . The largest of the islands are Brabant , Anvers , Tower , Trinity , Hosizn , Liège and total (more than thirty).

History
The archipelago is named by Andrien de Gerlach (leader of the Belgian Antarctic expedition (1897–1899)) [1] in honor of the American seafarer-fishing man Nathaniel Palmer , who reached the vicinity of Trinity Island on November 16, 1821, and which, during sailing in January and November 1821, is possible , explored islands and straits south of [2] .
A number of polar research stations are located on the archipelago, in particular, the American polar station Palmer on Anvers Island, the Argentinean weather station Melchior (on Island in the group of islands in the between the islands of Brabant and Anvers) [2] Chilean Yelcho Station on Island.
