Kalitov, Georgy Gainiakhmetovich

Kalitov Georgy Gainiyakhmatovich was born on September 7, 1952 in the village of Nizhny-Ivanaevo, Baltachevsky District of the BASSR ^[1] in a large family (four children). When they reached the age of nine and ten, the two older brothers were sent to study at a boarding school at the orphanage. From 1963 to 1967, George Kalitov and his brother Seryozha were pupils of the Birsky orphanage No. 1.

After graduating from the 8th grade of the school, he worked in Birsk as a woodcarver for almost a year at the Birsk factory of art products of the Agidel company, in 1968 Georgy Kalitov entered the art department of the Ufa College of Arts, where he studied with teachers: L. N. Samarin and K. P Chaprugina, R.M. Nurmukhametova.

In 1972, Georgy Gainiyakhmatovich graduated from the art department of the Ufa College of Arts.

After serving in the army, he returned to his native village, worked as the club manager, artist, producer of performances, concerts, teacher of the Ivanaevka secondary school

in the years 1974-1975. Since 1975 he studied at the UGII. In 1980 he defended his diploma with honors, - oil on canvas "Autumn in Alkino. Military builders." From 1980 to 1993 he worked in the Hood Fund of the Union of Artists of the BASSR. He led a number of murals (in Sibay, Sterlitamak, Krasnousolsk), the ceiling of the auditorium BGTOiB (1987), stained-glass windows “Melodies of Bashkiria” (architect Pecherkin A.V. .) from col. Glass for the Bashgosfilarmonia (1985). From 1985 to 2017, he was a teacher of the art department at the Ufa College of Arts, from 1994 to 1997 and from 2003 to 2005, he simultaneously taught at the Department of Painting at the UGAI.

He works in the field of easel (painting, graphics), monumental art, book illustration, theater art, as an artist-director (five performances for the Belarusian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, including the work by M. Karim "Long, Long Childhood", 1999).

Lives and works in Ufa.

Participates in exhibitions since 1979, in international - since 1993. Personal exhibitions in the famine Blagoveshchensk (1999), Ufa (2002), Yoshkar-Ola (2005).

  "Portrait of a pensioner from Sibay" 1983, (purchased from the exhibition "Socialist Urals" in Sverdlovsk, the Ministry of Cult of the RSFSR), "Group portrait of milkmaids" 1989, 1988;  “Village in winter”, 1989, “Verification” 1994, “Mother” 1993, “Flight of ducks over the Mari village”, 1992, portrait “Carpenter Raphael”, 1988, “Sacrifice”, 1993. Series of autolithographs “Mari rites”, (1994 - 2002), a series of linocuts "Characters of Mari mythology" (2015-2017).  Triptych “Soul of the Earth” (1994, BSU, main building 4th floor), painting “Constellation” (2002, theater museum BGATD named after M. Gafuri.; Painting “Tea drinking in Temyasovo” (2007, BGHM named after M. V. Nesterova) - created the last three works in collaboration with the artist R.S. Zaynetdinov. The painting "Imperial Charter" 2007-2013, (Birskiy Museum of History), the painting "Kindzmarauli for the Allies" 2010, the painting "Moon, Kumgan and Machine Gun" 2013, “Migratory birds fly” 2015, “Still life with a melon” 1992. The author and curator of the ethno-futuristic project “Kandyra” 2012, (body art, performance, happypening, video film) - a joint  but with documentary filmmaker A. Alikov, author and curator of the ethno-futuristic project “Did the ancient Mari have rune writing?” 2014-2015, (artifacts, photo texts), - together with photographer V. Madiyarov. State Prize of the Republic of Bashkortostan named after Salavat Yulaev (1995) - for the series of paintings “Tradition”, “Soul of the Earth”, “Koumiss”, created in 1994 - 1995.
