The 54th Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment ( 54th Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment ) was an infantry regiment recruited in Virginia to serve in the Confederate Army during the US Civil War . He fought as part of the Tennessee Army , participated in the Battle of Chicamog and in the Battle of Atlanta .

The 54th Virginia was formed in October 1861, and on October 10 took over Virginia. Company regiments were recruited in the districts of Carroll, Floyd, Montgomery and Pulaski.
The first commander of the regiment was Colonel Robert Craig Trigg, who subsequently led the entire brigade and commanded it under Chicamog [1] .
Initially, the regiment totaled 815 people. On May 13, 1862, the regiment was reorganized and accepted into the Confederate army. He fought with the Tennessee Army in the teams of Trigg, Reynolds and Palmer.
