Yoann Gutt Goncalves ( Fr. Yohan Goutt Goncalves ; born December 20, 1994 , Suren ) is a Timorese skier . Gonçalves was the first Timorese athlete (at all Games, including the summer) to qualify for the Olympics by fulfilling the standard, rather than receiving a special invitation. The only member of the East Timor team at the 2014 Winter Olympics [1] [2] . Also at the opening of the 2014 Winter Olympics he carried the flag of East Timor.

Biography
Father is French, mother is a resident of East Timor. When Indonesia invaded East Timor, her mother and sisters and brothers Joanna moved to Australia. He could represent France or Australia , but he preferred to represent his mother’s home country [3] [4] . On December 29, at a race in Serbia , Yoann lowered the total number of points below 140, which allowed him to fulfill the qualification standard.
