Krstac ( Serb. Krstac / Krstac ; Alb. Kërsteç / Kërstec ) is a village in southern Metohija . According to the administrative-territorial division of the autonomous region of Kosovo and Metohija (as part of Serbia ), the village belongs to the Gora community of the Prizren district ; according to the administrative-territorial division of the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo, the village belongs to the Dragash community of the Prizren District .

The village consists of two parts, located about half a kilometer from each other - earlier they formed two settlements - Upper Krstac ( Serbian. Gornji Krstac ) and Lower Krstac (Serb. Donji Krstac ).
General information
The population according to 2011 is 420 people (of which 212 are men and 208 are women) [3] .
The village of Krstats is located in the historical region of Gora , the villagers are representatives of the Islamized South Slavic ethnic group of Gorans (in the 2011 census, 161 people indicated Goranian nationality and 243 people indicated Bosnian ). During the census, the villagers mentioned Bosnian (254 people), Serbian (68 people) and Albanian (1 person) as their native language , 96 people indicated another language (besides Serbian, Bosnian, Albanian, Turkish and Gypsy ); according to the census, 327 residents are citizens of Kosovo, 73 residents are citizens of Serbia, 13 residents are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina , 2 residents are citizens of Macedonia and 1 resident is a citizen of Albania . The entire population of Krstac is Muslim [3] .

History
In 1916, during an expedition to Macedonia and , the Bulgarian linguist Stefan Mladenov visited the village, according to his calculations there were about 120 houses in the village of Krstats at that time [5] .
