Biography
From 1966 to 1990, he trained twenty USSR athletics champions. Among his students: Anatoly Dimov - finalist of the Summer Olympic Games in Moscow (1980) in the 3000m hurdle race, Ekaterina Podkopaeva - the world champion in the 1500m race in 1995, Sergey Afanasyev - medalist of the 1986 European Championship in the run in 1500 meters.
Since 1999, together with the coach L. M. Miroshnichenko, I trained a member of the national athletics team Yuri Borzakovsky to perform at the Summer Olympics in Sydney (2000), in which the athlete takes the sixth place in the final 800 meters race. From 2000 to 2004 under the guidance of a coach, Yuri Borzakovsky repeatedly won the championships of Russia, Europe and the world, and in 2004 became the Olympic champion of the Athens Summer Games in 800m running.
In 1980, for the great contribution to the training of high-class athletes, he was awarded the title of Honored Trainer of the RSFSR.
