Historic Area Lechkhumi
Lechkhumi ( Georgian ლეჩხუმი / Lečxumi ) is a historical region in northwestern Georgia , combining the basins of the Rioni and Tskhenistskali rivers, as well as the valley of the Lajanuri River. Today it is part of the region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti , occupies the lands of Tsager and partially Tskhaltubo and Ambrolaur municipalities . In the west, the region borders with Mingrelia , in the north - with Svaneti , in the east - with Racha and Imereti in the south .
Lechkhumi considered MK K. Mamardashvili his homeland [1] .
