The name of Taras Shevchenko ( Ukrainian: Іmenі Taras Shevchenko ; formerly “Bobrinskaya” ) is a railway junction located in the city of Smela, Cherkasy region of Ukraine. It is located at the intersection of the Kiev - Dnepr and Bakhmach - Pomoshnaya - Odessa lines.

Description

The station has a locomotive, passenger and freight car depot. The diesel locomotives 2TE10U and 2TE10U T , shunting CME3 are assigned to the locomotive depot, there are also columns of locomotive crews working on passenger electric locomotives ChS4 and ChS8 , traveling with trains from Kazatina and Kiev to Pyatikhatki-Stykova and Dolinskaya / Timkovo stations, where the tyag genus is changing. An insignificant amount of work of the PM Shevchenko brigade is performed on VL80 T Znamenka electric locomotives and VL80 S Kotovsk electric locomotives. There is a branch of the Khristinovka suburban depot, whose brigades operate on D1 diesel trains.

History

In 1872, Governor-General Dundukov-Korsakov was forced to join the Kiev-Brest and Kharkov-Nikolaev railways, which ended in Fastov and Znamenka stations, respectively. To this end, the Fastovskaya Society was formed. The company planned to build a railway through the Novomirgorod-Zlatopolie area, but the Minister of Railways Count Bobrinsky achieved the implementation of the Charter of the Company, which was obliged to pave the way through Smela with the right of operation until 1957 [3] .

A depot for nine steam locomotives and a shed for 8 wagons were set up at Bobrinskaya. There were: the main workshop for the repair of locomotives and wagons (now Smelyansk Electromechanical Plant), a store for spare parts and materials.

Despite the low cargo turnover, the presence of the station gave a quick impetus to the growth of the city and a reduction in unemployment. The working conditions were extremely difficult - they worked for 12 hours, and earned 80-90 rubles a year on earnings. Workers and switchmen lived in cramped cold barracks of two or three families together. The railway workers did not have a hospital, so I had to use Count Bobrinsky’s hospital for a fee.

On the eve of World War I, the station was refitted. At that time, the Odessa - Moscow railway was built, and a train flow from the south to the center of the Russian Empire went through the station.

In 1897, the Fastovskaya Railway was absorbed by the South-Western Railway, and since 1936 the Bobrinskaya Station became the Odessa Railway Station.

The station underwent a second conversion in 1958-64, then electrification appeared at the station.

In 1991 it became subordinate to the Ukrainian Railways .

From 2005 to 2008, the station underwent reconstruction, in connection with the opening of the Kiev - Dnepropetrovsk high-speed line.

On September 13, 2012, the locomotive depot of the station was awarded as the best locomotive depot in the industry competition in the first half of 2012 [4] .
