Bradsall is a popular destination for senior citizens who relocate here for a quiet life. A bus stops in the village on the route from Ilkeston to Derby . [one]
The village has an elementary school, a school for the disabled and a sports ground for playing cricket and soccer. Since the 1950s, the Bredsall Cricket Club has been based here.
History
The Doomsday Book mentions that Bradsall belonged to the knight Heinrich de Ferrier and cost 4 pounds. The text says that the village had a church, a meadow and a mill. [2]
In the church of all the saints of Bradsall, there is a war memorial built in the form of a Celtic cross in honor of 14 men who died in the First World War and nine men and one woman who died in the Second World War .
Famous residents
- Naturalist Erasmus Darwin moved to Bradsall at the end of his life. He is buried in the church of all saints.
- Nerd Joseph Whitetaker was born in Bradsall.
