Geography
It is located about 14 km northeast of the district center - the urban-type settlement Shakhovskaya , on the left bank of the Muravka river, which flows into Kolpyan (the Ivankovo ββreservoir basin ). Neighboring settlements - the village of Belaya Kolp , the villages of Elizavetino , Vasilyevskoye and Korotnevo .
A bus number 41 comes into the village twice a day, next to Shakhovskaya [7] .
Historical Information
In 1769, Borkunov was the village of the Kolpsky camp of the Volokolamsk district of Moscow province as part of the possession of the second-major life guard , Prince Alexander Alekseevich Shakhovsky. The village has 29 yards and 105 souls [8] .
In the middle of the XIX century, the village of Berkunovo belonged to the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province and belonged to Prince Valentin Mikhailovich Shakhovsky . The village had 23 yards, peasants 81 male souls and 76 female souls [2] .
In the βList of Populated Placesβ of 1862, Berkunovo (Birkunovo) - the owner village of the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province on the left side of the Moscow highway (from the border of the Zubtsov district to the city of Volokolamsk ), 18 versts from the county town, at the Muravka river, with 22 courtyards and 136 residents (71 men, 65 women), the venue of fairs [3] .
According to the data for 1890, the village of Birkunovo was part of the Kulpino volost , the number of male souls was 76 people [9] .

According to the materials of the 1926 All-Union Population Census, Berkunovo is a village of the Belokolpsky village council of the Ramensky volost of the Volokolamsk district. 216 people lived (100 men, 116 women), there were 36 peasant farms [4] .
