History

A suburb was created at the Cardinia Creek railway station by Benjamin Disraeli (Lord Beaconsfield), died the day before the station opened. They decided to name the suburb in his honor [1] . The first post office was opened on October 7, 1878, and the post office of the railway station opened on January 1, 1883. In 1891, the suburb was renamed High Baconfields , and in 1902 the railway station was renamed Baconfields . [2]
