Shao Zongqi ( Chinese 邵 宗 其 , Pinyin : Shao Zongqi ; born February 16, 1976 ) is a Chinese mass murderer. On the basis of marital jealousy, on January 30, 2014, he shot two lovers of his wife and their family [1] . The crime is very atypical for China - a country where firearms are completely prohibited, and for their illegal storage threatens a long term of imprisonment or the death penalty [2] .

Content
Massacre
On January 30, 2014, the police in Jingkou village were literally shocked by what had happened: an unknown person shot two families at once. Six people died, three were seriously injured [1] . A reward of $ 30 thousand (200 thousand yuan) has been announced for information about a criminal or other assistance in capturing an unknown person [3] . Initially, the police had no assumptions about the motive for the crime and the identity of the suspect, but soon investigators managed to find out that the heads of the murdered families were lovers of one married woman. After that, they went on the trail of her husband, Shao Zongqi. He started on the run, but on February 2, 2014, he was captured at 17:10 in his native village of Houqiao, Tenchong County [4] . During his arrest, a gun and forty cartridges were seized from him [5] .
Investigation
The killer admitted that he had acquired weapons and ammunition abroad as soon as he found out about his wife's lovers, although, of course, he did not tell his sellers why he needed weapons and so many cartridges. His wife, on the contrary, knew about the upcoming shooting, but did not inform anyone about it [5] . In August 2014, Shao Zongqi was sentenced to death [6] , the sentence was not carried out immediately.
