Shnip, Victor Anatolyevich

Viktor Anatolievich Shnip ( Belorussian. Viktor Anatolievich Shnip ; born in 1960) - Belarusian writer, translator. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1984). Laureate of the Vladimir Mayakovsky Council of Ministers of the Georgian SSR Prize (1987). Laureate of the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the nomination “Fiction” (2008).

Biography

Born March 26, 1960 in the village of Pugachi, Volozhinsky district, Minsk region, in a peasant family.

In 1978 he graduated from the Minsk Architectural and Construction College. He worked as a carpenter at construction sites in Minsk, as a literary consultant in the magazine Nyoman and in the newspaper Vyacherni Minsk. In 1987 he graduated from the Higher Literary Courses in Moscow. He worked as an editor of the department of culture in the journal Belarus (since 1987), the newspapers Nasha Slovo (executive secretary) and Literature and mastastva (deputy editor-in-chief, editor-in-chief in 2002-2003). In 2003-2008, he was deputy editor-in-chief, and since 2008, he was editor-in-chief of the Mastatskaya Literatura publishing house. Married to L. I. Rublevskaya [1] .

Creativity

He made his debut in 1977 (the newspaper "Chervonaya zmena"). He is the author of more than 10 poetry books, a number of poetic texts are put to music by Belarusian rock groups. He writes prose, translates into Belarusian.
