She began her acting career with participation in vaudeville, and in 1912 she made her debut on Broadway . It was the theatrical roles that brought the actress popularity and recognition. In addition, Greenwood had a long film career, which began in 1915 with the main role in the silent comedy "Jane". Both marriages were childless and ended in divorce. Charlotte Greenwood passed away in Los Angeles in 1977 at the age of 87. She was cremated, and the dust was scattered in the sea.
