Luge competitions among men in single sleighs at the 2014 Winter Olympics were held on February 8 and 9 . The competition was attended by 39 athletes from 22 countries. The venue for the races was the sled bobsleigh track. The reigning champion in this discipline was the German sleigh rider Felix Loch . He confidently won the gold again, having won in three of the four races (only in the first he lost a little to Albert Demchenko).

The Russian Albert Demchenko became the first athlete in history to take part in the seven Winter Olympic Games (1992, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014). Albert won his second Olympic medal after the 2006 Turin Silver.

The Italian Armin Zoggeler became the first athlete in history to win six medals in the same personal discipline at the Olympic Games (both summer and winter).
