Mesocinetus elumbis (lat.) Is a fossil species of beetles of the genus Mesocinetus from the extinct family Mesocinetidae (superfamily Scirtoidea ). Found in the Upper Jurassic deposits of Central Asia (Shar-Teg Formation, Sharteg Formation, Gobi-Altai aimak , east of Mount Atas-Bogd 5-6 km, west of Mount Shara-Tag, Mongolia ). The body is small in size (length about 2.6 mm, width 1.3 mm, elytra 2.1 mm). Pronotum convex anterior, mesocoxes in contact, oblique metacoxes almost reaching posterior margin of 1st ventrite; metacox femoral tires narrow. The species was first described by fingerprints in 2010 by Russian entomologists Alexander Georgievich Kireichuk [1] ( Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , St. Petersburg ) and Alexander Georgievich Ponomarenko ( Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Moscow , Russia ) [1] [2] [3] .
