Grave Crater ( lat. Grave ) is a large ancient impact crater located in the northern part of the huge Gagarin Crater on the far side of the Moon . The name is given in honor of the Russian and Soviet mathematician Dmitry Alexandrovich Grave (1863-1939) and the inventor of the rocket on smokeless gunpowder Ivan Platonovich Grave (1874-1960); approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1976. Crater Description
To the west of the crater is Isaev Crater, in the north-west is Marconi Crater, in the north-northeast is Beyerink Crater, in the northeast is Geiger Crater, in the east is Arminsky Crater, in the southeast is Balandin Crater, in the south-southeast is Crater Raspletin , in the south, Cosberg Crater [3] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 37 km [4] , depth 2.2 km [1] .
The crater has a circular shape with a rectified western part, is significantly destroyed. The shaft is covered by many craters of various sizes. The height of the shaft above the surrounding area is 1030 m [1] , the volume of the crater is approximately 1200 km³ [1] . In the center of the bowl there is a slight slight elevation of the terrain.
