Geography
The village is located in the southern part of the district, near the border with the Mozhaisk district and the Smolensk region , about 26 km south of the district center Shakhovskaya , on the left bank of the Inochi river [7] , the height of the center above sea level is 218 m [8] . The nearest settlements are Panyukovo in the east and Kozhino of the Mozhaisk district in the southeast.
The village has a central street , attributed gardening partnership (SNT) " Rosinka " [9] .

Historical Information
In 1769, Sokolov was a village of the Khovansky camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province as part of a large property of collegiate councilor Vladimir Fedorovich Sheremetev. There are 14 courtyards and 46 souls in the village [11] .
In the middle of the XIX century, the village of Sokolovo belonged to the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district and belonged to the lieutenant Ivan Vasilyevich Satin. In the village there were 17 courtyards, 51 male souls of the peasants and 56 female souls [12] .
In the List of Populated Places in 1862, the owner's village of the 1st camp of the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow province on the right side of the Moscow highway that ran from the border to Zubtsovskiy district to the city of Volokolamsk , 50 versts from the county city, with the river Inochi, with 15 courtyards and 101 resident (46 men, 55 women) [3] .
According to the data for 1890, it was part of the Seredinskaya volost , the number of male souls was 48 people [13] .
In 1913 there were 22 yards [14] .
According to the materials of the All-Union census of 1926 - the village of Panyukovsky village council , in which 147 people lived (63 men, 84 women) and there were 29 peasant farms [4] .
Since 1929, it is a settlement in the Shakhovsky District of the Moscow Region.
