History
The settlement Narrow Meadow was founded by Russian immigrants in the early 18th century on a narrow territory between the left bank of the Khilok River and the northern spurs of the Malkhan Range . Narrow Meadow and other nearby settlements belonged to the lands of the Trinity Selenginsky Monastery . In 1875 , after the consecration of the church of St. Paraskeva, the Narrow Meadow becomes a village .
Victor Fomin writes about the history of the village :
In 1874 , in the Narrow Meadow, the construction of the Church of St. Paraskeva began , the first builders were Paramon Oskolkov and Dmitry Trapeznikov. The following year the church was built, only by another builder, Firs Zakhozhy. In 1889 , a one - class parish school was opened. In 1929 , a church was closed in the village, and a village club was opened in it. The club has become a meeting place, a campaign point for joining a collective farm. [2]
